Open The Gate Sound is possibly the only London sound who brings you Reggae vibes in all its beautiful shades!

Dub, Roots, New Roots, Ska, Lovers Rock, Dancehall, Dubplates and even Remixes with flavours of Hip-Hop, Drum&Bass or Dubstep, Fenomeno Show & Samurai spin them all, strictly from vinyl selections skilfully aligned and equalized, accompanied by ever funny, clever and dynamic MCing.

One of the particularity of that Sound crew: Fenomeno Show (the DJ) and Samurai (the MC) are a perfect combination as the MC can also drop heavy selections on the desks while the DJ can hold the microphone as well. They are in fact two “One-man-show” rolled into one!

Open The Gate Sound is resident at The Jazz Cafe in Camden where they warmed up the crowd for important artists such as Collie Buddz, Eek A Mouse, Skatalites, Hempress Sativa, Horace Andy, The Abyssinians, Twinkle Brothers, Dennis Bovell, Macka B and more.
They have been rocking the crowd in the best London venues:  Hootananny in Brixton, Passing Clouds / The Jago and Rich Mix in East London, Silver Bullet in North London, and were residents at Rikitiki in Brighton.

They regularly play in clubs and festivals in UK and Europe. They are the resident reggae sound of Ruigoord's LandJuweel Festival and Balloon Fest in Paradiso, Amsterdam.

Open The Gate Sound features on their set a variety of guests MCs and singers – check out the list below!
